| New: Call forwarding |
Starting today sipgate is offering 'Call forwarding'. At your discretion may incoming calls now be diverted to any other phone such as a mobile or fixed line.
You may choose up to three 'Call forwarding' targets. Once 'Call forwarding' is in place, incoming calls are forwarded to each number in the given order until the call gets answered. Missing calls now becomes a thing of the past.
Unlike when forwarding from cell phone, access to the phone is not necessary. If you forget your mobile at home, you will miss your private calls at the workplace. Unlike calls to your sipgate home phone, for which 'Call forwarding' options are now available on the web.
Forwarded calls are being charged at standard rates corresponding to your plan.
You will find the new feature in your sipgate account under the category 'Settings'.

sipgate is the first VoIP provider to give customers direct access to its system via a designated, proprietary interface. At the same time, 'sipgate API' provides a catalog of functions that - within the scope of the product stipulations - can be integrated into third party products and solutions at the discretion of the user. This allows customers and developers to use virtually any sipgate function for their own applications.
Working with 'sipgate API' is free with any sipgate account, regardless of the pricing plan selected. The API solution can be used without a special release.
To facilitate the initial use of the solution, sipgate also discloses the source code of Firefox extension 'sipgate FFX.' Moreover, sipgate supports .NET developers with 'sipgate API .NET SDK,' a convenient library that makes the 'sipgate API' services easy to use. Several Perl examples and a KDE panel application, which along with 'sipgate FFX' are subject to a GPL 2 license, complete the no-cost service portfolio. | Modification: Adjustment DTMF standard at August 1st |
sipgate changes the Dual Tone Multiple Frequency (DTMF) to the RfC2833 standard and so guarantees an overall hardware support. A change of the hardware configuration is normally not necessary.
Advice: If Dial-In and Call-Through connections are actuated or an interactive voice response (IVR) is to be used, the settings have to be renewed. Therefor sipgate offers detailed instructions, which will be released on August 1st, 2007.

It indicates that you have voicemail waiting. Notification methods vary by manufacturer.
You can normally activate the feature by logging into your device and looking for MWI.

Taking another pioneering step in VoIP, sipgate is pleased to announce expanded geographic number availability across the UK.
Sipgate now provides 01 and 02 phone numbers out of more than 600 area codes along with its VoIP offering covering almost the entire UK. Some 40 remaining area codes in rural areas will be added in the coming weeks according to company information.
